The following requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Manage mass media contacts to include internet, radio, television, and newspaper.
  • Establish and maintain community and national public relations
  • Become familiar with entities and community agencies that work with older adults
  • Learn networking skills to broaden your interpersonal skills with community members
  • Increase knowledge in the field of gerontology through journal articles, attending conferences, as a speaker in your community, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Increase skills as a professional grant writer or through research writing
  • Work closely with direct supervisor
  • Become a mentor in your program

Students: Gerontology, Psychology, Nursing, Sociology, Non-profit Management, Business Administration
